A little look back...

While I was away from this blog for the past six month some of you have been able to follow some of my work through the blog and Website of Scrapagogo. I like some of those layouts so much that I thought I would share them again on here! So yes, they are a few month old but never mind, they might be new to some of you!!!

Here is my first layout created with the October Gogo kit. The subject is our new dog Tuck that I had not yet introduced on this blog. Isn't he cute? I loved using an Hipstamatic picture. It is something you'll see more often in my work.

My second layout is of Cally. I am sure you'll have recognised her as she is one of my main subject in Scrapbooking (as well as of conversation!). This time I only used the hybrid elements from the Scrapagogo November kit to create this page. I am yet again using a photo taken with my Hipstamatic app.

What a best way to come back then to promote a brand new kit formula by Scrapagogo?!

It is a gorgeous kit, cramed full of goodness for a tiny price! What could we ask more?

So without any delay here is my first layout using Essentially Gogo!

I decided that to celebrate the birth of Essentially Gogo I would go back to one of my favourite Scrapbooking style: Clean and Simple. I wanted to really showcase the products without overwhelming my photograph. And what best way for this then to use a lot of Hybrid elements as my primary embellishments along with the bespoke card?!

It all work so well together!
My page is not heavy and my photograph (which I love!) is not buried under all the elements.

I really do love this new kit as it is such great value! I still have plenty of produces to play with and can't wait to do so!

What? A full layout using only one sheet of cardstock?! Yes! Thanks to Gogo Hybrids I was able to create a full layout using just one sheet of kraft cardstock! What best when you have used-up your last kit or when you are running out of cash?! And I love those September hybrids elements!

Those clouds are a must have for me! So trendy! I love them!

I always have room for some bunting! Just perfect!

I love to experiment with my hybrids and as I love glossy accent, I decided to cover some of them with it. I just adore the effect and how it make the colours "pop"!

Those elements are perfect for a boy layout and so I decided to use them along this photo of my nephew Loïc. In France, the number plate indicate where the car is from. Here is the 74 mean Haute-Savoie where my home town of Chamonix is located. As any cool outdoorsy young lad, Loïc is extremly proud of his origins and shows it in a very "down with the kids" kind of way on this photo.

As well I wanted to share with you a give-away that is even better than a simple give-away: if you want to take part, you are SURE to get something in the letter box. One more LO that I love. This kit really is awesome! I adore all those papers and this vintage country cottage feel. I am even tempted to get some more of this paper collection...

Here is another layout created for the DT of Scrapagogo using the super yummy August kit! I can't believe that I have been able to create six layouts so far and that I still have enough stash left for at least one more! As the kit is just about to be dispatched from Gogo HQ I decided to share with you a tutorial on how to create this layout. Are you ready? So here we go:

This is what I started my LO with. It shows you that you do not need to start with full sheets of paper or cardstock to create a 12"x12" LO! First, cut out of the sheets pieces so that you get a 12"x12" background. Remember to make one of your piece longer by 1" so that you have space to glue the paper together.

Cut out two strips of cardstock. Those are 1,5"x12" and 2"x12", then punch one side off with a different border punch on each strips. If you don't own a border punch, don't worry as you can get a very cool effect by simply distressing on side of each strips or tearing it!

Assemble the cardstock and the patterned paper so that you obtain a 12"x12" page. Cover the joint with some ribbon or rick-rack as I did here.

Now let's build up this page!

Punch a 1" circle and glue it on top of the rosace. I did this as the original colour did not match the rest of my LO. Then mount your photo on some patterned paper. Place it on the bottom left of your page using sticky foam pads just so it is over lapping slightly the layering at the bottom of the LO. Glue the rosace on the bottom left corner of your photo.

For your title, ink the edges of each letter tiles with distress ink then cover them with glossy accent. When the glossy just start to skin-over (after 15 min-ish) spray very lightly some cosmic shimmer or any other spray in a dark brown tint over your letters. Then leave to dry completely. I personally like to let them set overnight.

Punch a heart out of cardstock, ink the edges and cover it with glossy accent. Place your title on the right hand side of you photograph.

Cut out some strips of paper of 1cm high. Stamp over them your journaling with Staze on ink. Cut them to the length that suit your LO and them ink them with distress ink and cover them with glossy accent. The glossy is not necessary but I just find that it really makes the elements "pop" out of the page. Place those strips above your photograph once all the glossy has dried.

Stamp directly on the background of your page on the top right corner. If you are unsure of your stamping abilities, simply stamp the image on some cardstock, cut it out and glue it on that right corner of the page.

Stamp the image again on some patterned paper and cut out the little cupcake. Stick that cut-out cupcake with one square of sticky foam pad over the cupcake that is stamped on your layout.

Distress some printed strips of paper with some Antique linen ink. Stick it down on the rosace and below the title as such:

Finish the Layout off by adding a brad on top of the rosace and a rose at the end of the strip below your title.

Hi all!

Here is another layout created for the DT of Scrapagogo using the August kit. What amaze me with this kit is that although it is a very girly kit, you can still mix the papers and the colours in a very masculine way! Look at this layout I was able to create about my brother!

But that's not all! Every month Scrapagogo offer some FREE hybrid elements that coordinate with the theme of the kit! Yes FREE! All you have to do is join the forum! If there is one thing I love, it is when I can get gorgeous stash for free and unlimited, therefore GoGo hybrid is right up my street! I love the idea that I can try all the techniques I want on those elements as if I do not like the result I can throw it away, print them again and play some more! I used for this LO the border strips, the letters that I used for my title and some journaling tags.

I inked all my digital elements to give them an aged and masculine look.

And I LOOOOOOVE those wooden hearts! There are so many of them in the kit that I did not hesitate to use a few of them on one single layout! Their size inspired me straight away to use them as frames for my pictures. It is just the perfect way to do a multi pictures layout without overwhelming your pages.

I am having so much fun with this kit! And the crazy thing is that I still have plenty of stash in it to keep going until next month! I hope that I have inspired you some more today! See you all soon around!

Make your mark

We all love a bargain, don't we? Or to find a way to save money... Well don't look any further because this month's stamp at Scrapagogo is just what we were all looking for! Yes! Believe me! Some of you might read this thinking "yeah right" but let me explain: this month stamp is a background stamp. Now I am a serious stamp lover and have a fair collection and I can say hand on my heart that I have never used a stamp as much as a background stamp! It allow you to make your own patterned paper, your own embellishments, accents, etc... The only limit is your imagination!

On my layout "Future Punks", I used my stamp with some clear embossing ink on the pink and the red cardstock to create my own patterned paper. The result is very subtle. I wanted as well to stick to my punk theme and punched the green cardstock where I knew the photos and embellishments would hide the holes. I stamped the circles and embossed them with white powder. The effect is very striking and definitely gives that edgy "rock" feeling to the page.

Did you notice that I did not use any patterned paper on this layout? The stamp really helped me make the most of my cardstock! I could not have realised this layout without this stamp as it helped me to show a contrast between the very sweet photo and the story I wanted to tell. It helped it all come together!

You can go completely the other way too with this stamp and make a page more romantic and feminine. I used Gogo Create, Strawberry Laces and Stamp.

For this layout I used my stamp do make a pattern behind my photo. I used a pink ink and then distressed the card. I then use the stamp as an embellishment behind the title and journaling. I simply stamped once at an angle and embossed it with a light turquoise powder. The title and journaling say: "Second time a success, Maurice made an honest women of Michele". It is the wedding photo of my parents. The baby is me!!! It is my father's second wedding and it is still going strong after nearly 28 years!

August promess to be Yummy!!!

I am a very lucky girl as I have received this little beauty from Scrapagogo:

Yes it is the August kit that is due to be dispatched on the 15th of August!!!

And let me tell you that it is a gorgeous collection of eye-catching yumminess!!! You can find more details here.

I have been able to play around with it over the last weekend and have already created four LO that you can see in the Scrapagogo design team Gallery. All the LO from the DT girls are awesome!

So I wanted to share with you the first LO I made for the team:

I used a photo of my Grand-parents with their children (my dad is n°8!!!) which I adore!

I love all the elements from this kit! I used the ribbons, stickers, journaling tag and brads from the Go to Pieces add on which is full to the brim! I am in love with this patterned paper! Isn't it gorgeous! You can get so many different effects and vibes from this kit that I could honestly keep playing with it and still get a totally different LO in the end!

Do you want to know how to create those lovely blooms?

Here is how:

1: Cut/ punch out a 1" circle and make a hole in the centre for your brad.

2: Cut the threads along the ribbon which are between the laced "circles". Be careful not to cut the thicker side of the ribbon.

3: Place some thin sticky tape along the thicker side of the ribbon.

4: Place it on the circle starting by the outside going toward the centre of the circle.

5: Continue until the whole circle is covered.

6: Place one of the Go To Pieces brads and fluff it up. There you go, you have a sweet little flower!

So I hope that I have inspired you and that my first LO for Scrapagogo! There will so many more to come!!!

Hi everybody!

How is your weekend going?

I have been scrapping again and doing a lot of crafty shopping! I have quite a lot of papers, prima flowers and other goodies on their way and I can't wait to drool all over it!

I too have over 120 photos on their way so I will have all I need to keep that scrapping mojo going!

I had been wanting to use the leftover papers from my August kit of 2010 from Scrapagogo for a while as I love them and I had not done a super girly LO for a long time so I decided to scrap a photo of Sophie.

She is the daughter of a colleague and her favourite colour is pink so it was perfectly appropriate.

Here is my LO:

I really love my stitching at the moment!

A few close-up:

I painted some of the maya road chipboard that were in the kit and covered the others with paper.
I then stamped a text on the ones I painted.
I coevered every chipboards with glossy accent to finish them off.

I added some little touches of pink paint on the edges of white flowers.

On an other note I have been given an AMAZING news this week and I am waiting for the green light to share it with you so keep checking over here as I will share it with you as soon as I can!

Turn old into new!

Hi everybody!

How are you?
I am here with another LO to share with you!
I have to let you know that I haven't bought a single sheet of patterned paper since last July!
I started scrapbooking in 2007 and I still have some untouched sheets of 12x12" dating back to that year!
Now I do craft a lot and there is a fair amount of LO that I made that never found their ways to this blog as they are more of a personal nature.
It just seemed that I was stacking up quicker than I was using!
I love shopping for crafty things and keep my eyes on the products coming out of CHA but I had to stop myself from buying everything I fancied!
So for the last year I gave myself a challenge: can I keep designing pages and cards with "older" products but still making it look fresh?
And I believe the answer is yes!
All the papers you see here are from 2009 or before and the Sassafras stamps are from 2008 even maybe 2007...
I think that what make it work is the fact that I only used three main colors that I knew were trendy and worked well together. And how trendy those stamps still are!!! Manufacturers are still producing new papers with clouds and howls on them! Oh and that cherry blossom branch? You can still see other stamps manufacturers churning out new versions of them!

So yes, when you look at the blogs of those famous names in the scrapbooking world, you rarely see them using the same papers/ stamps/ embellishments twice but hey, we are in the real world and we don't get that gorgeous stash for free! We salivate over it, save for it and if we are lucky we are able to get it by spending our hard earned cash for it! So why not using it over and over again? Until the last square of it?

This LO is just that! I used my leftover scraps of paper for my stamping impressions and strips! I also hand-made all my blooms saving me a lot of money!

I did not have to buy any extras for this LO as it was all in my stash since over a year. As good as free lol!

Buttons are bang on trends at the moments and so are bakers twine. This help keep this LO modern and fresh. They are also a good way of keeping the price of this LO down as I recycled them from old clothes and packaging.

Those hand-made flowers bring colour and interest to this branch and help to keep the colour scheme flowing around this page.

Stamped images are a very economical way of embellishing a page as your stamps are re-usable! It allows you to make sure you have the colours you want!

So my top tips to keep your old stash looking fresh are:

-use it by coordinating colours in a modern way: colour combo challenges are a great way to inspire you!

-Add elements (stamped images, doodles,...) that are still trendy. You don't need to buy them! You may have pieces that are still trendy like those stamps or why not look for free digital elements on the net? There are plenty to chose from!

-Make your own embellishments! "hand made" things are super-hot at the moment and you would recycle your older elements making them brand-new must-have!

-Have fun! It always transpire in your design when you had fun making them!

But if you are desperate for brand new stash, the most cost effective way of getting it is by getting a kit. They are already colour coordinated and full of all the things you could need.

My favourite one is Scrapagogo as they are full to the brim with goodies and are always one step ahead of the trend so you are sure that they will still be fresh after some time!

Going to the theatre...

... well not really.

I simply came-up with an other LO that I designed with theatres in mind. A drama of which I would be the queen lol.

I have scrapped this photo before but I decided to use it again as it is one of the few of me that I actually do like. I am still awaiting some photos to come through the post too.

Anyway, here is my LO!

I love all the rich gold/ red/ blue/ cream colours as I think it helps to support the theme.

I got my sewing machine out! I adore those butterflies!

I built those flowers so they would be the exact colours I wanted for my page.

I used an old American Crafts chipboard for the crown. I simply scrapped off the glitters, embossed it in gold, sprayed it with cosmic shimer and re-heated it!

Do you remember a few weeks back I said that I had some exciting news coming?

Well, the French website Creapassions asked me if I would like to be interviewed for their daily scrapbooking feature. Well I accepeted and it is now live! You can find it HERE!

Getting Kraft-y

Hi all!

I just couldn't wait to see what challenge the CAS-ual Friday girls would come up with this week!

I have the impression that when you don't participate to a lot of challenge it can be difficult to follow the directions dictated by someone else but it appear to me that when you start to follow a few challenges it then become difficult to come up with something without those directions as a starting point...

It is only what I have noticed this past week.

After a few weeks entering some challenges I really strugled to come up with creations on my own.

But it is friday again and the first thing I did this morning was to check out the CAS blog!

A very interesting theme: a male card using Kraft elements/ paper.

I wanted to come up with something else as well for the LIM sketch challenge before it closes as I loved it. You can find it HERE.

Sketch that!!!

Hi all!

I haven't created any LO since summer 2010. Yep! That long!

And lately I have been feeling the scrapping tingle so as I finished work surprisingly early yesterday I decided to try coming up with another LO.

To avoid the white page panick I went for a stroll around the few blogs I follow and found THIS challenge which planted the seeds of inspiration...

I know, I see you coming, yes it is another sketch... And I know I told you I wasn't a sketch person. But when mister mojo knock on the door you've got to let him in right?!

This sketch is from a French challenge blog but honestly, you don't need to understand French to understand a sketch so go ahead and try it as it is a great little blog. You just link your entries in the comment section.

It has a very C & S feel but I like the quirkiness of the tinny letters!

I embossed the thickers then sprayed them with gold glimmer mist and then re-heated them.

Don't have kids but...

... but inspiration ask you to do as if you did, well, you do!

Let me explain:

I rarely work from a sketch (I could say never...) so when I saw that this week's LIM challenge was a sketch I shivered from head to toe!

But a challenge wouldn't be one if it was always easy!

So I took the plunge and sat at my desk awaiting inspiration to strike.

I am not the kind of person to plan what I will use. I always go with the flow and never know at the start (nor alfway lol) what I will end-up with.

So when I started to imagine replacing the three circles with an ABC I quickly thought of the WMS griddle as a backdrop. I realised that it gave it a school feeling so I decided to make a "teacher" card although I haven't got any childrens.

I won't have any use for this card any time soon!

Hi all!

Did you see that Waltzing mouse is about to release 8 brand new stamps sets on July the 1st?

I simply can't wait to see what Claire came-up with!

Her stamps are so versatile and of such a good quality that I just can't get enough of them!

I'll have to be reasonable though as I have just spent a fair bit of money on a light tent so I think that I will have to wait until next month for a WMS treat!

This week has been filled with good surprises and I can't wait to tell you more about it very soon.

Hi all!

How is your week going?

I haven't posted this weekend as we have been visiting my MIL and there-for haven't been able to get anywhere near a computer before tonight.

As well I had been waiting for my new toy: a light tent with day-light lamps!

I am so pleased! It is amazing the result I get from it!

I just hope those photos won't look as fuzzy as they have done lately as in that case I think it would have to be because of blogger itself!

Anyway, I decided to enter this weeks challenge at CAS-usual Fridays.

Hi all!

One of those rare mid-week post...

I decided to enter the LIS challenge that can be found HERE and I can say that it has been a hard one for me for the simple reason that it asked for a one layer card... And my thing is to layer!

So after binning around 10 unsuccessfull attempts I came-up with this:

I know it's only june but to be honest after 10 cards in the bin I was happy to come up with something okay even though it was chrismassy!

I have been able to spend a considerable amount of time playing with my stamps and trying to comeup with projects for a few challenges.

I know I haven't been on the bloggosphere for the last couple of weeks but I often lose the will to photograph my cards as lately I haven't been pleased by the quality of the image although I have a good DSLR...

Therefore I have decided to invest in a light tent with some daylight lamps. Please let me know what you would recommend as I am still at the looking around stage...

On a crafting subject, I wanted to try myself at this weeks CAS-usal fridays challenge.

You can find it HERE.

You have to pick a row (vertical / diagonal / horizontal) and use the three ingredients as your recipe.

I chose the diagonal with buttons / Dies or punch/ Emboss

So, I have one button, I have used a border punch and a corner punch and for the embossing I have heat embossed the text on the kraft cardstock.

A winner, sad news and two challenges!

Hi everybody!

Yet again an other weekend is over but I am afraid this isn't the only sad news I was talking about in this blog title...

After 10 weeks of inspiration I decided to stop my weekly colour combination.

My heart isn't into it anymore and I don't think that they were challenging me enough as they were colours I found stricking anyway... I might put one or two now and again in the future but not on a regular basis anymore...

I wanted to thank hugely Hanna and Jenny for their participations since week one. This will not be forgoten!

And by the way, after a draw, Jenny your name come up for the prize so please if you could give me your details...

My stopping my colour combination doesn't mean that I am stopping challenging myself and I decided to enter more often other blogs fun.

This week I have merged the CAS-ual fridays challenge and the LIS challenge

which were respectivly "Bring the bling" and "Butterflies" all for a clean and simple card.

Here is the result:

After reading the LIS challenge I new straight away that I would organise my butterflies that way and that I would put some bling on them. It just happened that it would fullfill the CAS challenge as well!

After laying my butterflies on my card I knew it needed "something" to contain them and I opted for an embossed frame made with a Spellbinder die.

I love the final result!

It is finally time for me to reveal the little surprise I had been talking about...
Yes, it is already my tenth colour combination and I have been amazed with all of your creations!

Hi all!

How is your week going?

Only four days left before I can reveal the surprise I have planned for you to celebrate the tenth week of my colour combination! I promess that it'll be something worth coming around for!

Anyway, back to today.

My cousin broke a bone skiing a couple of weeks back so I made this card for him.

It is the third time this year that I use those colours ence the title of this post.

I just think they are striking!

I used my brand new stamps from Waltzing Mouse and the inks are Memento.

I love how this tag look!

If you have been following this blog for a while, you'll know how much I love baking cupcakes!

As lately I was looking for some fresh ideas for making my cupcakes a bit more originals I bought the book of Love Bakery.

I tryed my hand at a very traditional American recipe... the red velvet.

So yes it isn't very fresh nor original but I had wanted to try it for a while...

The cakes turned out okay and the sponge was very light but I think that I might give it a twist of my own in a future attempt. Anyway as it fit in the colour scheme of today's card and that it us cute to look at here is a pic...

Hi all!

Another weekend over with... Where does the time go?

So it is back to work but to make it easier to find time for some crafting I am back with a new colour combination.

I got inspired by the cover of the book "Water for Elephants".

I have not read it yet as I am currently reading "The Help" (that you can find here) but the trailer for the movie really made me want to give it a go.

Those colours are so rich!
I tried to avoid making it look christmassy and I think that it's a success.
I have used some brand new stamps I have just recieved from Waltzing Mouse.
They are so gorgeous and the quality is amazing! I love them!

Hi all!

What a glorious 4 days weekend it has been!

I enjoyed every bit of it!

Did you watch the wedding? I know everybody is talking about it but why shouldn't I join them?!

Kate was glorious in her wedding dress and William looked so in love! I never thought I would feel as emotional as I did but I really couldn't get enough of it! Even Iain was glued to the TV!

I really do wish them all the best!

Now onto our usual end of weekend subject: the color combination.

As I have been in a cupcake mood lately I have spent a lot on Google Image to get some inspiration. It is where I found the image that I used for this color combination.

I hope you had a good weekend!

We have been busy with doggy walks and we really enjoyed our free time!

As well saturday's craft fair went very well and my stand of cupcakes had a lot of success! Thanks to everybody that made the trip to come to see us!

I have hit a bit of a mojo-less time but I still wanted to give you a color cmbination.

I haven't got a project to go with it yet as I don't like any of the things I came up with but I still love the combination. I'll try to create something to post here in the next few days.

Getting into the mood for...

... a Royale wedding.

It seems like the colors blue / red / white are everywhere at the moment.

Obviously everybody is feeling very patriotic with the wedding coming up! Are you going to watch it? I think I will as I am a real sucker for wanting to look at wedding dresses.

On the Ribbon Girl's blog they are celebrating the event by organising a competition using the nationals colors as the theme.

I already made this color combination during one of my Sunday's Color Combination a few weeks back but as I did really like it but they only accepted new projects especially for this challenge I decided to have a go at using the same colours while doing something new.

I love the result! All the ribbons and bakers twine were bought form the Ribbons Girl's shop although this wasn't a condition for your entry.

So here is my card:

There is a fair bit of layering.

I have part embossed the light blue cardstock on one side and then border puched the other side.

I have layered on top of it some white sheer ruffle edge ribbon, some red saddle stitch ribbon and some bakers twine.

I then added some die-cut labels topped by a thicker that I heat embossed in gold and a button that I got in a button box I bought on e-bay.

I love the final result! It is bang on trend with it's naval feel but I think it has a bit of a 50's feel about it.

Hi Guys!

I am back!

Sorry for the let down last week but my cold was quite something!

I have made it to work but just by the skin of my teeth and I am now going to enjoy a full week holliday at home.

I am taking part in a craft fair next saturday in Askham, Cumbria, where I will sell some of my cards as well as some cupcakes so please come in numbers!

Here is my card. It is more shabby than what I usualy come up with but still my style.

As we were looking to decorate our bedroom in a country cottage kind of style, I came accross this photo and thought that it would be nice to use it for a combination.

I covered a butterfly chipboard with brown cardstock and then sprayed some brown glimmer mist on it to then stamp and heat emboss it.

At the heart of those flowers are some vintage buttons I got in a box on e-bay. I love the result!

Hi everybody!

I hope you had a nice weekend! On our side, we had a busy one: a bit of gardening yesterday to sort out the mess that the winter left behind and today we went to the rescue shelter to have a look at a few border-collies. We fell in love with one of them and should be bringing him home next weekend!

I have used some glimmer mist (purple) sprayed close up. I then did put all my embellishments on.

I ended the card with a very thin spray (standing up away from the card) of gold cosmic shimer.

Teen male birthday card

Hi all!
My cousin Martin is turning fourteen and as he is one of the greatest young lad I have ever met I decided that I would make a card for his birthday. He trully deserve something special! But as you know it is a complicated thing to create a male card, even more when you add the word "teen" on the theme, I had to scratch my head for a while before I got started. In the end a few skulls, some flashy colors and an old tag made a good combo and I was happy with the result.
Here is the card, let me know what you think!

I have covered some chipboard numbers with some gold glittery embossing powder.

A bit of button twine wrapped around some paper and stappled in place...

I have roughly spread some paint on the background of the card and I have sprinkled some Zing embossing powder just before it had finished drying. I then heated it up.

As I did last week I got inspired by the color combo given on the Color Room blog.
Do you remember how last week I told you that the color were out of my confort zone but I still managed to create a card very quickly? Well this time it was the complete opposite! The colors were completely "up my street" (down with the kids me...) but it took me two days to come up with this card!
Worth it in the end mind...

Nevermind, it Smells like teen spirit

Hi all!
Everytime I get into a crafting mood, I grab my Iphone, go into my craft room (glorified spare bedroom/ dumping ground) and press the "play" button. As I am a fan of Nirvana I have a few of their songs on it and this time I got inspired to create a "grunge" card.
I made I card similar to this one for christmas (with a snowflake that I die-cutted in a pair of old jeans) but I wanted to take it further, making it grungier and dirtier.
Here is the card:

I used a Tim Holtz spay filled with diluted paint and a few Kezi'art stamps that I love with some Maya road Ink.

The button is vintage and the flower is Prima.

I bought a few tins of vintage buttons on e-bay. I find it the best way to get a lot of buttons as you get a big load with all the colors/textures you might need for a fraction of the price it would be in a shop.

The house of colors

Hi all!

As I was wandering from blog to blog, I came across the Color room website where, every weeks, they propose a new color scheme. Although at first I thought that I would pass on this one as the scheme did not speak to me, I then thought "It wouldn't be a challenge if it was easy so go ahead and do it".

I went through my stash then I decided to go for a masculine card. I thought that I would play it simple so I used the background plain as white was part of the scheme and stamped the three other colors directly on the card. I then decided to bring the colors once more with the "rosasse" and the sentiment.

Overall I think it is a success. I actually was surprised how easily I pulled it off and how well it turned out.

I too think that it is successfull as a masculine card as Iain did like it a lot (and we all know how difficult mens cards are hard to pull off...).

Anyway, enough talking, here it is.

Here is the scheme. As you see they propose a sketch as well.

I like it a lot! I really am into those odd corners! I think it does bring a little extra to the general design of the card, and you will see a lot more of them in the future on my cards.

Or how to go crazy over all the Photoshop non-sense...

If I wasn't such a wimp over pain I swear that I would be bold by now out of pulling my hairs out!

Let me explain.

Last weekend my other half, a friend and I went for a real traditional English tea break in a small village of Yorkshire. I thought that it would make a great photo opportunity and it did!

I came back home all excited to get those images edited and see the end result but I was in for a big let down.

You see, a few weeks ago while playing around on photoshop, I finaly discovered how to create the "vigneting" effect on my photos. I even used this technique to create the blurry edges on my new blog banner.

But this time around I just couldn't get it to work! I couldn't get this gradual, discrete darkening around the edges of my photos. And god knows I tried everything I could think of!

I even dreamt about the damn thing!

So today I decided to open the "help" folder at the top of the screen and read through it.

I thought that if I had been able to do it once then there was probably something that I was missing and therefore I should find what somewhere in the explanations.

I discovered a lot of great things along the way and I now know what some of the tools are for.

I have been able to take some of my photos to another level and I am thinking about re-editing all my previous pics.

AND, I now know what I did wrong!

I have been able to "vignete" my pics and I am now at peace.

I swear that fom now on I'll read all the manuals and put all the explanations to practice.

I am not fully convinced with this LO but I feel as I have taken it as far as possible and therefore I don't dislike it but I don't love it either...

Hi everybody!

I don't know if you remember my LO that got published in the November issue of Scrapbook Inspirations for their "ready, steady, scrap" challenge...

Well... A few month back, Cally decided to "redesign" it and here is what it look like now:

And here is a photo of the culprit:

Doesn't she look super-guilty? lol, I know, I just can't get mad at her...

So anyway, as I had a double of the pic I decided to make a new LO with it and I am really pleased with the result! And wait for it, it only took me a day to come up with it! Yeay!!! (well, I still have another LO that has sat on my desk unfinished for the last week...)

So here is my take two on this photo:

It is a fairly simple LO with not a lot on it but I just love the feel of it!

Hi All!

People who know my style know that I tend not to use super-busy-mega-bright paper

as my background for my LO...

And there is a good reason for it!

I like things to be straight-foreward, to not have to think

for ages how on earth will I be able to make my photo "pop" against a

background that "booms"...

But I took a dive and after four evenings thinking it through, I did it!

It was all part of the november kit from scrapagogo.

I liked it so much that I never dared "tapping" into it.

I think that all those colours were daunting as well as that I didn't know which photos to use as I haven't got any childrens but I ended up using a photo of my brother taken in the early 90's.

Hi all!

Yes, what is going on with the weekends?
Honestly! It barely started that it's already over!
The worse is that I had all those good intentions of doing certain things but I didn't even had the time to start thinking about it!
So I decided , as I haven't been here for a bit, to come and share with you a LO made last weekend. Yeah, my mojo is still a bit rusty after that looooooonnnng time off crafting so it was a matter of stop / start /stop / start... (over 5ish days) but in the end I got there.
There is nothing "crazy" on this LO technic whise, but I did spend a looooot of time going over it again and again and changing, ungluing, moving around things, etc... until I was "happy" with it.

Hi everybody!

On wednesday morning I had the time to go blog hoping before to get to work and I stumbled upon a post by Anne on her blog "Pretty" about a new Iphone App called Hipstamatic (try and prononce it...).
It is a camera app and what you can do with it is just amazing!
I love the effects and I haven't been able to put my Iphone down since I downloaded it!
I always found that the camera that came with the phone was pretty poor and never used it but now, I actually go around snaping away, thinking that I actually could use those photos!
Here are a few... Love that seventies / antique look!

How great that we are having a bank holiday weekend!
And as every weekends, I have been busy in the kitchen and baking some cupcakes...
So this week it is blueberry sponge with a vanilla buttercream.
Here are a few "vintage" photos, I'll probably take some high quality ones tomorrow with my DSLR... I am going to bake some cookies as well...

I am happy too as my local village shop agreed to sell them so I have been working on a logo and packaging. I just can't wait to see how they work out!

This is not just food...

Hi everyone!

After a weekend enjoying the sun I thought it was time for me to share a few more photos with you ...
You see, during my few months of "no blogging", I fell in love with cupcakes...
I had tryed a few before from various shops / bakery/ Supermarkets and never understood what all the fuss around those little cakes was about.
That is until the day I had, for some unknown reasons, the biggest craving ever for some.
So I went to town with Cally (my very patient collie) and we came back with our arms (paws) full of baking goodies incuding the book of Primrose Bakery.
I made a bunch of vanilla cupcakes and it was like seeing the light for the first time!
Now, I am in the "secret" of what cupcakes are all about!They are sooooo yummy!
So since that day mid feb, I have made a batch every weekend (or most of them)...
I went through quite a few flavors such as chocolate, peanut butter, lemon, ginger, lime, coconut, raspberry and much more...

After a while trying different recipies I came up with my own mixes and decorations.
I made some lemon cupcakes yesterday (I know, baking in the heat might not have been my brightest moment, but hey, when it's love...) with a nice lemon curd filling and here are some photos:

I am awaiting an order of very originals cupcake cases from Malaysia and I will show you what I come up with as soon as I get them! Can't wait hi hi!!!

Along the same line, when I went to France for some hollidays last easter I found out that a shop entirely dedicated to French macarons had open it's doors in my hometown...
Oh my god!!! What a sight!
I HAD to by some (for photography purposes of course lol) as they looked soooo cute and here are the few photos that I had the time to take before they disapeared (wonder where they went...)...

Hi everyone!

After a good few months away from the internet, I am back!
I didn't craft much during my time "away" (mix of "loss of mojo" and 3 months without an actual craft space) but I have been busy!
To start with I got a promotion at work and I am absolutely LOOOOVING my new role!
Then was time for some hollidays (pics still to be edited).
And then, a couple of weekends ago, my other half and I were invited to friends wedding where I was lucky to try myself at some proper "wedding photography"
So here are the results, enjoy and please feel free to comment and give criticisme as I would love to improve!

I wanted to thank you for all your lovely comments while I was away!!!

Hi all!
By now you'll have realised how useless I am at keeping my blog going and uploading my creations but here is another LO that I made back in 2009 (ok, not soooooo far away...) but never got to share with you.
It was a struggle to come up with it (you've got no idea how much is hiden under all the patterned paper...) but I love the end result and how all those different papers (old and not so old) mixed up well.
I tried a little something with my title's lettering which I like but that my other half wasn't impressed with... What do you think?

Self centered time or how to get a good self protrait...

I had let myself "go" for the last three or so years and as you might have read in my last post

I decided to "get a grip" in 2010 and to look more after myself.
So far so good...

As part of this change I started to wear makeup everydays.
This started two wars:

-At home with the oh so known arguement of:
"if you do that it must mean that you have another bloke..."
As if I had enough energy to go after another guy when I have to fight teeth and nails for the "wright" to take care of myself...

-At work: Some of my coleagues do wear makeup
so I thought it would be okay with me but OH NO!
As I never used to wear makeup before at work,
it was obvious when I turned up with mascara and a thin line of green liner.
It was as if hell broke loose!
Then came the argument of what was aloud and what wasn't,
how could black liner be okay but not green...
All that to ban makeup all together to then allow it again after a "briefing" with the HR...
And all that in just one day!!!
Oh my god!!!! I can say that I wasn't miss popularity on that monday...

Anyway, as I started to put on makeup daily, my interest in this "art" grew.
I discovered those two AMAZING blogs: Mon blog de fille (in french but can be translated) and Makeup your Jangsara (in english) that are all about oh so gorgeous makeup and how to do it
which led me to another thing to spend my money on (as I decided to go onto a stash diet): new makeup and other related produces.

As I start to feel better about how I look, I decided to go out today to take some pics of my makeup trials and maybe get a new profile photo.
I love the effect I achieved although it is far from perfect.
I have always used neutrals colours but I went here for something totally bold and different and it was so worth it!

OK, I know I haven't been around for over a month...
I can be such a bad blogger!!!
Right, I had the flu and got stuck in bed for two weeks then it was xmas and before you knew it, it was over a month since I last came over here!

Anyway, that time in bed helped me to find some resolutions worthy of some effort...
So for 2010, I decided to get healthy and take more care of myself.
Ok, I hear you say "who doesn't take this resolution?" but it is not only about weigh loss but I think it's about being happier in general...
The second resolution that I want to get closer to becoming a professional photographer.
So this mean taking lessons, spending more time with my camera and slowly trying to find way to make money out of it... I know this will help me towards my "happier" path!

So this means as well that I'll have a bit less time for my crafting.
Don't worry! I am not stopping all together, just reducing the amount of time I will spend on it...
There for I decided to take a break from the DT of C4E and I am so thankfull to Michele for being so understanding!!!

So I wish you all a very happy new year and all the best for 2010!

And for the road here are a few LO made a while ago but never came around to put on this blog...

Coucou à tous!
Voici une autre carte réalisée à partir du sketch de C4E.
J'ai pris beaucoup de libertées avec ce sketch mais je voulais rester dans un style qui m'est propre...
J'avais acheté ce papier de Cosmo Cricket il y a plus d'un an mais je n'avais jamais sû trop quoi faire avec mais dans un moment de super-productivité hier soir je lui ai enfin trouvé une utilité et je dois dire que j'adore le resultat!
Le petit bonhomme de neige est dessiné à la main.

I took a lot of freedom with the sketch but I think that we can still recognise it. I just wanted to keep within the same style for my xmas cards.
I bought this Cosmo Cricket paper over a year ago and never new what to do with it but in an enlightening moment last night I finally found a use for it and I have to say that I love the result!
The little snowman was hand drawn.

Christmas in October

La production de cartes est bien entamée et mes journées de travail se ralongent dû à la grande production des produits de saison.
Et oui, Noël est bientôt là!
J'ai donc décidé d'utiliser le sketch de C4E pour une de mes cartes de voeux.
J'aime beaucoup le resultat et je crois que je l'utiliserais encore!

Halloween Card

Encore un weekend de passé...
Aujourd'hui est l'anniversaire de Iain et donc nous sommes sortis hier soir où il a été surpris par ses amis qui l'attendaient pour un repas au pub étant venus pour la plupart d'entre eux de Manchester (soit plus de 2 heures de route à cause des bouchons...).
Je ne savais pas jusqu'à maintenant que je pouvais coucher au total 9 personnes et un chien dans notre appartement...

Another weekend gone...
Today is Iain's birthday so last night we went for a meal at the pub were his friends (who came all the way from Manchester) were waiting for him as a surprise.
It was a great night with a lot of fun and laughter and I have to say that until then I didn't know that I could sleep 9 people and a dog in our "cosy" two bedrooms flat...

Sur une note plus "créative", voici une carte créée pour la DT de C4E.

J'ai utilisé ici un de ces fameux tampons pour cette carte que j'ai mis en couleur grâce à photoshop.
C'est la première fois que je vais "hybride" et j'ai adoré!

On a more "creative" note here is my card for the C4E DT.

I used one of them for this card that I colored in photoshop. It's the first time that I go hybrid and I loved it! The final effect is great and it allowed me to use it as a decoupage without having to color by hand each images!

Where is Mr Mojo?

Ben oui, ça arrive...
Vous savez, ces moments où vous avez un projet/ une idée en tête mais une fois face à votre bureau, rien ne sort, ça bloque...
J'ai réalisé des pages et des cartes il y a quelques semaines pour des concours/ parutions/ échanges (Marie... tu vois de quoi je parle...) et la créativité etait débordante mais depuis, plus rien, nada, le grand vide.
Ce que je met sur papier ne me plais pas, je trouve les resultats au delà de mediocre et donc ces "créations" n'auront pas leurs places sur ce blog.
D'où mon abscence du net ces derniers temps...
Rien à montrer donc pas l'envie de blogger...
En attendant le retour de Mr Mojo dans ma vie, voici quelques créations réalisée pour C4E qui me plaises suffisament pour que je vous les montre.

It happens...
You know those times when you have an idea in mind but once at your desk it doesn't want to happen, as if it was stuck somewhere...
I made some LO and cards a few weeks back for competitions/ publishing/ exchanges and creativity was flowing non-stop but since, the river is dry, nothing coming, no juice...
I dislike what I put on paper and find it worse than mediocre and therefor those "creations" won't find there minute of fame on this blog.
All this explain why I have been nowhere to be seen those last few weeks: nothing worth showing so no desire to blog...
In the meantime, here are a few things that I made for C4E wich make the grade and that I can share with you.
If you see Mr Mojo, tell him I am looking for him...

Celà fait longtemps que je ne suis pas venue sur mon blog mais oui, je suis toujours parmis vous...
Trop occupée, pas le temps ou pas l'envie... Toujours quelque chose ou une raison pour rester déconnectée...

Voici une page réalisé avec le kit d'aout de scrapagogo.
Trés en avance je le confirme vû le theme "resolutions" mais elle répondait à un appel pour un magazine anglais mais n'a pas été retenue pour publication...

Here is a LO made with the august kit from scrapagogo.
Very early as the theme is "resolutions", more apropriate for the new year time but I made it for a gallery call. It just didn't make the grade and wasn't selected...

Normallement un challenge carterie, je trouvais que le sketch s'adaptais bien au scrap...
Désolée pour la photo qui n'est pas terrible mais en "vrai" la page rend beaucoup mieu qu'ici...

Hier était ma premiere contribution au Blog de Crafts 4 eternity en tant que membre de la DT avec cette carte qui repondait au superbe sketch proposé par Michele et au theme "souris".

Yesterday was my first contribution to the blog of Crafts 4 eternity as a DT member with this card. We had to use the great sketch of Michele with the theme "Mices" in mind.

For the UK residents only:
I have had a clear out in my scraproom at the weekend and I am giving away a few (I don't know how many yet, maybe 4 to 6) lots of scrapbooking/ crafting stuff. Some of those have been partially used but some haven't. It would include rubons, stickers, 12x12" pattern paper, etc...

Une semaine de soleil / A week of sunshine

Bonjour à toutes!
Et voilà! Enfin en vacances!
En fait, nous sommes partis il y a déjà une semaine mais nous avons été tellement chargés que nous ne l'avons pas vue passer!

Hi everyone! Here we are! On hollidays! In fact, we went away a week ago but we have been so busy that we barely saw it come and go!

Le samedi, à partir de 11h30 environ nous avons entendu l'hélicoptère tourner. En regardant dans la montagne nous avons remarqué qu'il y avait un feu de forêt sous les remontées mécaniques. L'hélicoptère était là pour aider à éteindre l'incendie et se rechargeait en eau dans un lac à côté de notre maison. Je suis donc allée prendre des photos d'un spectacle impressionnent.

On the saturday, from 11:30, we could hear the helicopter fly around. When we looked in the mountain we could see that there were a fire under the cable car. The helicopter was here to help to put it down and was taking water in a lake just next door to our house. I went to take some photos of this impressif "show".

Le soleil a été au rendez-vous tout au long de la semaine et j'ai pu prendre ces photos de Cally devant le Mont-Blanc depuis le balcon du chalet de mes parents.

The sun was here under a strong heat and I was able to take those phtoos of Cally in front of the Mont-Blanc from my parent's chalet.

J'ai eu également la chance de photographier mon filleul Simon et mon petit cousin Tom. De sacrés poseurs ces deux là et plein d'énergie!

I had the occasion as well to take photos of my (now famous) godson Simon and my cousin Tom. They know how to pose! And what a bagfull of energy!

J'ai eu l'occasion de scrapper mais vu que la batterie de mon reflex est morte et que dans mon style typique j'ai oublié le chargeur en Angleterre, je vais devoir attendre encore un peu avant de pouvoir la mettre ici.

I had the occasion to scrap but as the batterry of my camera died and that typical of me I forgot the charger in the UK I will have to wait a bit bzefore to share it with you on here.

Hi everyone! First of all I wanted to apologize for not being around much on the web and not leaving as many comments as I would have liked to, but between work being mad and getting ready for our hollidays, free time is rare so the computer was off most of the time... Promess I'll make up to you!

Voici une page réalisée ce weekend.
Ce sont des photos de mon filleul Simon prises lors de sa communion en mai dernier.
Je souhaitais mettre plusieurs photos donc j'ai réalisé ce sistème coullissant.
J'adore le resultat finale!

Here is a LO made last weekend. I have used photos of my godson Simon taken last may. I wanted to use more than one photo on the page so I created this sliding system.
I just love the result!

Petit tuto pour réaliser le sistème coulissant. Si vous l'utilisez, merci de me créditer.

Tutorial to create the sliding system. If you use it, thank you for accrediting it to me.

Collez votre photo sur un rectangle de 13.1cm x 18cm
Glue your photo on a rectangle of 13.1cm x 18cm

Coupez dans du carton deux morceaux identiques comme indiqué sur l'immage si-dessous.
Cut in cardboard to identical pieces as shown on the photo below

Retournez votre papier sur lequel vous avez collé votre photo et collez-y vos pieces de carton comme sur l'image si-dessous.
Turn around the paper on wich you glued your photo and glue on it the two pices of cardboard as shown on the photo below.

Dans du cardstock decoupez deux morceaux comme indiqué si-dessous
In cardstock cut out two pieces following the measured indicated below.

Coupez deux morceaux dans du carton mesurant 11.5cm x 0.5cm et collez les comme indiqué ci-dessous.
Cut two pieces of cardboard of 11.5cm x 0.5cm and stick it down as shown below.

Dans du papier imprimé coupez deux morceaux comme ci-dessous
In patern paper cut out two pieces as shown below.

Coupez une forme "tag" laissant 1cm pour coller le morceau.
Cut a "tag" shape leaving 1cm to stick down the piece.

Collez votre "tag" sur le morceau de cardstosk quue vous avez prealablement coupé.
Stick down your "tag" on the piece of cardstock you have previously cut out.

Par dessus collez-y votre photo comme ci-dessous.
Stick down your photo on it as shown below.

Attention: vos photos doivent etres collée comme cidessous
Warning: your photos must be stuck down as shown below

Prenez votre rectangle de papier imprimé sur lequel vous avez collé votre photo et retournez le.
Mettez par dessus vos deux cartes "tags" avec la photo sur le dessous. Les deux languettes de carton doivent etres l'une contre l'autre.
Take your rectangle of patterned paper on wich you have your main photo and put it with the photo down on the desk. Put on it the two cardstock "tags" with the photo underneath. The two strips of cardstock have to be next to each other so they get interlocked.

Recouvrer la bordure en carton avec de la colle/ scotch double-face puis recouvrez avec un rectangle en cardstock de 13.1cm x 18cm. Cette partie est celle qui va vous permettre de coller le mecanisme à votre page.
Put glue/ double-sided tape and the cardboard edge and put on it a rectangle of cardstock of 13.1cm x 18cm. This part will allow you to stick down the mecanisme to your LO.

Et voilà! ne vous reste plus qu'à décorer votre page!
This is it! All you have to do is decorate your LO!

Voici l'effet final. Lorsque vous tirez une photo, l'autre se cache automatiquement.
Here is the final effect. When you pull one photo out it drag automatically the other one back in.

Coucou à toutes!
Dans le scrap (dans tous les arts...), il est coutume de dire que l'inspiration est partout autour de nous! Mais, pour certain(e)s d'entre nous, il est difficile de voir comment on peux lier un objet à une création...
Alors voilà! J'ai ici un petit example!
Vous vous souvenez du livre que j'avais adoré et que je vous avais recommendé? Je l'ai utilisé comme source d'inspiration.
Je voulais créer une page qui explique à quel point j'aime les livres "filles": Bridget Jones, Accro du Shopping,...
J'ai donc utilisé une photo du livre "I heart New-York" et me suis inspirée de sa palette de couleur pour représenter ce côté "féminin"/"romantique".
Je l'ai associé à ce papier de "Dream Street Papers" qui avait un petit côté doux et leger.
J'ai ensuite apporté des touches de couleurs par des "bulles" pour le côté drôle, rêverie, évasion.
Le tout interprète sur papier ce que je ressend lors de mes lectures...

Hi everyone!
In scrapbooking (as in every arts...), it is said that inspiration is everywhere around us! But for some of us, it is difficult to extract ideas from an object to put it down on a LO.
So, here I have an exemple!
Do you remmenber the book I recomended you earlier on? I used it as my inspiration.
I wanted to create a LO that show my love for "chicks flicks": Bridget Jones, Shoppaholic,...
I used a photo of the book "I heart New York" and took the colour scheme to represent the "femenin" / "romantic" themes.
I associated it with this paper from "Dream street Paper" for its "soft" and "light" feels.
I then added some touch of colors with thoses "bubbles" for the "funny", "dreamy" and "escape" themes.
All this is to put down on paper what I feel when I read this kind of books...

Maintenent, pourquoi ne pas vous inspirer d'un de vos objet préferé?!
Ecrivez sur un bout de papier ce qui vous plait dans cet objet: les couleurs? formes? matières?
Ecrivez ce que cet objet vous fait ressentir et associez chaque mot à quelque chose qui peut etre représenté sur une page:
exemple: liberté = un oiseau, passion= couleur rouge,...
Construisez votre page à partir de tous ces éléments.
Bon scrap!

Now, why not try to get inspired by one of your favourite object?!
Write down on a piece of paper the things you like about this object: shapes? colors? textures?
Write down what this object make you feel and associate each word to something (element) that can be put on a LO, exemple: freedom = a bird, passion = the color red,...
Take all those element and start building your LO around them.
You'll get a LO very personnal, that will be full of meaning for you!

Coucou à toutes!
Voici un petit tuto pout réaliser une pochette à aiguilles toute mimi!

Vous aurez besoin d'une feuille de cardstock, de colle forte ou scotch à double face, et de déco (ici j'ai utilisé des rubans, un badge et un bouton en faux cuir).
Celà prend environ 15 minutes.

Hi everyone! Here is a step-by-step to create a very cute pin wallet.

You will need a sheet of cardstock, some double sided tape or strong glue and some embelishments (here I used some ribbon, a badge and a false leather button).
It will take about 15 minutes.

Coupez un rectangle de 16, 9cm X 12,5cm
Ensuite marquez au cutter sans couper aux distances indiquées sur la photo ci-dessous.

Cut a rectangle of 16,9cm X 12,5cm. Scar it as indicated in the photo below.

Pliez là où vous avez marqué au cutter.

Fold where you score the paper.

Retournez votre cardstock et mettez du scotch double-face ou de la colle forte comme indiqué sur la photo si-dessous.

Turn the card around and put double sided tape or strong glue as shown on the photo below.

Collez les bords comme sur la photo si dessous.
Vous avez maintenant une boite à aiguilles. Il ne vous reste plus qu'à la percer delicatement là où vous souhaitez mettre vos aiguilles.
Ensuite decorez votre boite comme vous le desirez.

Glue the edges as shown on the photo below.
You now have a needle wallet! All you have to do is carefully punch some holes at the desired places with a needle and then decorate it as you wish!

Coucou à toutes!
Et oui, il y a de l'évolution dans l'air!
Je parle de mon style bien sûre!
C'est vrai que jusqu'à ces derniers mois, j'étais plutôt freestyle mais je crois que cette page montre un changement certain vers quelque chose de beaucoup plus Clean and Simple!
Il y a toujours mes peintures et tampons que j'affectionne particulierement mais c'est beaucoup plus épuré, structuré, refléchis...
Enfin, c'est mon avis... Dites moi ce que vous en pensez!

It is true that until those last few month my style was more "freestyle" but I think that this LO show some changes towards something more "Clean and Simple"!
Sure my beloved paint and stamps are still there but it is much more structured, pure, thought about...

Les lettres sont des chipboards Pink Paisley que j'ai recouvertes de glossy, puis de paillettes puis d'une autre couche de glossy.

The letters are chipboards from Pink Paisley that I have covered with Glossy accent, then glitter then a last layer of Glossy accent.

Tout d'abord, ma NSP Marie est de retour! Youpi!
Aprés avoir acheté son appartement avec son chéri, il y avais eu plusieurs semaines de silence (on sait tous ce que c'est de déménager...) mais voilà, elle est de retour en force avec un mini tout mignon et un super cadre qui vous donnera des tonnes d'idées! Allez faire un tour sur son blog, promis ça vaut le coup!

I have to start with the fact that my NSP (friend) Marie is back! Yeeha!
After buying her flat with her sweetheart, there was a few weeks of silence (we all know what it is to move house...) but, here she is, back beter then ever with a super cute mini album and the greatest photoframe ever that will give you loads of ideas! Go and have a look on her blog, promess it is worth it, and she is really good in english so don't be shy to leave a comment!

Ces deux dernières semaines, j'ai travaillé sur ce double mini-album remplis des photos de ma petite cousine Anne-Charlotte prises lors de mon weekend en France.
Je ne sais pas encore si je vais le garder ou l'offrire.

Bonjour à tous!
Je sais que je ne suis pas du genre à poster de nouvelles pages tous les jours comme d'autres le font mais Iain monopolise l'ordinateur en ce moment ce qui m'a empêcher deposter cette page plus tôt.
Alors voilà, je profite du fait qu'il soit sortit s'occuper du jardin.
Voici une page au sujet de Cally. Elle avait été réalisée pour un appel de page sujet annimaux mais n'a pas été choisi. Je crois que c'est à cause du titre qui est le même qu'un film de James Bond donc il y aurai eu des problèmes vis-avis des droits d'auteur...

Hi everyone! I know that I am not the kind to blog new LO everyday like some talented scrapbookers but Iain has been hugging the computer for the last week or so and therefor I haven't been able to show this LO sooner. So there, I jump on the oportunity that he had to pop out in the garden... Here is a LO about Cally. I made it for a readers gallery call under the theme "animals" but I wasn't selected... I think that it is because of my title as it is the same as a James Bond movie and there would have been some "names right" problems...

Egallement je voulais partager avec vous la decouverte de ce livre.
Pour le moment en anglais mais bienôt en français, il est super drôle et leger, dans le même style que "confessions d'une accro du shopping".
J'ai beaucoup aimé et attend la suite...

As well I wanted to share with you this book.
It is extremely funny and light, great chick flick (I am a sucker for them...)
in the same style as "cofession of a shopaholic".
I loved it and can't wait for the next one...

Et oui, ma première publication "officielle"!
Cheryl Johnson a choisit ma page pour la gallerie des lecteurs sous les thèmes "Rêves" et "étapes dela vie".
J'aime beaucoup cette page colorée, toute en volumes.

I really love this LO as it is so colourfull and in vomumes.

Une envie/ A desire

Voici une page réalisée avec le kit d'avril de Scrapagogo.
Je voulais absoliment utiliser cette feutrine à poids et c'est ce qui a dicté mon choix de photo.
J'ai eu beaucoup de difficulté à créer cette page. Je l'ai laissé, j'y suis revenu, et celà plusieurs fois avant d'y mettre le point final.
Toujours je n'étais pas trés satisfaite et je dois dire que cette page a "grandit" en moi...
J'aime le côté à la fois "Clean and Simple" et "freestyle".
Cette page parle de mon "fantsme" depuis longtemps d'habiter dans une maison avec une barriere blanche à "l'americaine", façon Desperate Housewives.

Here is a LO made with the April kit from Scrapagogo.
I wanted to use this dotted felt and this is what dictated the choice for my photo.
I struggled a LOT to create this LO. I left it, came back, and so a few times before to put the finishing touch.
Even then I still wasn't very happy with it and I have to say that this page 'grew" in me...
I like the fact that it is at the same time "clean and simple" and "freestyle".
It is about the "fantasy" I have since a long time to live in a house with a white fence "American style" like in Desperate Housewives.

Une petite page / A small Layout

Voici une petite page réalisée il y a quelques temps mais que je n'avais pris en photo par manque de temps. Elle était donc tombée dans l'oubli jusqu'à ce que j'aille faire un tour dans mon album et qu' elle se rappel à moi.
C'est au sujet des jambes de Iain qui sont toujours couvertes de boue aprés ses entrainements tout au long de l'hiver.

Here is a LO that I made a bit ago but that I never came around to photograph by lack of time.
It then was forgoten until I went through my album.
I'ts about Iain's muddy legs as it is an everyday sight because of all his training for his fell running.

Bonjour à tous!
Un petit post rapide pour vous dire que je suis toujours en vie!
Je sais que je n'ai pas posté depuis quelques temps mais j'ai été trés occupée.
Le weekend dernier m'a emmené en Ecosse, Ile du Jura où j'ai assisté à une course en montagne et profité de la mer (sans me baigner...).
Quelques photos sont à venire...
Je pars dans quelques heures pour la France pour un weekend prolongé où j'aurrais l'occasion de prendre beaucoup de photos de famille.
Donc promis, je reviendrais d'ici quelques jours (probablement le weekend prochain) sur la toile pour vous montrer mes clichés!

Just here to say that I am still alive!
I know that I havent posted for a while but I have been very busy.
Last weekend took me to Scotland, Isle of Jura where I witnessed a fell race and enjoyed the sea (no, I didn't have a dip...)
Some photos are to come.
I am leaving for France in a cople of hours for a long weekend where I'll be able to take some family portraits.
So I promess , I'll be back in a few days (probably next weekend) to show you my few shots!

Je sais, je sais... J'ai été abscente pendant un long moment... Quelques cartes ont été crées pour des occasions à venire et quelques pages réalisées pour les galleries de quelques magasines... En attendant de pouvoir vous montrer toutes ces petites choses, voici quelques photos prises de Cally cette semaine. Ceux d'entre vous qui sont mes amis sur Facebook (oui, ça y est, j'y suis...) les auront déjà vues.Je ne suis pas à 100% satisfaite mais quelques retouches les rendent "acceptables".

I know... I haven't been here for a while... Some cards have been made for some occasions and some LO created for some magazine's "readers gallery"... So, until I can share them with you all, here are some photos of Cally. Those of you who are my friends on Facebook (yes, I took the plunge) will have seen them already. I am not a 100% happy with them but a light twiking made them "acceptable".

Voilà, j'ai craqué! J'ai enfin sucombé aux appels de la Distress Ink!
Il était temps, me dirons certaines...
Donc je suis allée me balader sur le net pour decouvrire de nouvelles (pour moi) techniques et voici une super video de Tim Holtz.

Samedi photographie/ Saturday in photos

Samedi était le jour international du Scrapbooking mais, étant "photographe officielle" de Iain, je l'ai accompagné à Coniston pour la course en montagne (ou trail...) annuelle. Il a fait un bon temps et je crois qu'il était satisfait de sa performance, si ça vous interesse voici son blog.

Je suis satisfaite des photos prises et je commence à voire la difference avec mes photos précedentes.
Je n'ai pas tout mis mais voici une "courte" séléction.

Last Saturday was the International Scrapbooking Day but, as the "official photographer" of Iain, I went with him to Coniston for the annual fell race. I had a good time and I think he was happy with his result, if you are interested here is his blog.

I am pleased with the photos I took and start to see some progress.
I didn't put everything as this is a very "short" selection.

Apres la course, je suis allée au bord du champ en face de notre appartement car pour une fois les petits agneaux se trouvaient suffisament proche pour obtenire des photos sympas.
Je peux vous dire que j'ai attendu et prié pour ces images pour les dux derniers mois.
C'est incroyable à quel point il est difficile de s'approcher des ces animaux!
Ne sont-ils pas mignons?!

After the race I went to the field in front of our flat because for the first time the little lambs were close enough to get some nice shots.
I can say that I waited and prayed for the opportunity to take those photos for the last two months!
It's incredible how difficult it is to get close to those animals!
Aren't they cute?!

Voici une page réalisée en partit avec le kit Scrapagogo.
J'aime beaucoup cette combinaison de couleurs et je crois que j'ai reussi à faire que celà n'ai pas l'air "patriotique".

I love this colour combo and I think I succeded to not make it look "patriotic".

Voilà, aprés plus d'une semaine que je l'avais envoyé, ma NSP Marie a enfin reçu l'album que j'ai créé pour elle.
Elle m'avait envoyé ces photos auquelles elle tenait tout particulierement vû qu'elle va bientôt déménager, donc je devais leurs rendre justice!
Je crois que ça lui a plus.

Trouver l'inspiration... Finding inspiration

Je voulais m'amuser avec mon objectif mais je ne voulais pas prendre de photos que:
1. je ne voudrais pas scrapper
2. que j'avais déjà
3. qui ne voulaient "rien dire"
Alors j'ai regardé autour de moi et ai pris ces trois photos.

I wanted to play around with my lens but I didn't want to take photos that:
1. I wouldn't want to scrap
2. that I had already
3. that didn't "mean" anything
So I looked around myself and took those three shots

Iain qui fait son stretching aprés son entrainemen: c'est une vision regulière en ce moment.
